Reflective journal 29/09
Day: 3 Date: 29.09.20171. Things I learned and did today:
We checked our knowledge of English vowels - had the test consisting of three questions. I learned how to articulate a sound "fleece" in the right way and tried to remember English tunes with the help of the exercise in our Phonetic copybook. I found a new way to improve my pronunciation - doing shadowing. It was really interesting to know about it.
2. For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:
I think my pronunciation of English "th" wasn't good today. I used Russian tunes in sentences instead of English ones as well.
3. I would give 7 points out of ten for my pronunciation today because I tried to pronunce English consonants "V" and "F" properly and speak more emotionally.
4. For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent:
In opinion my partner doesn't consider some English phonetic features like English consonants "V" and "F".
5. I would give 7 points out of ten for my partner's pronunciation today because she confused English sounds "v" and "w" while she was speaking but in fact she spoke quite well.
6. Impressions for today's lesson:
First of all I'd like to say that I was greatly surprised that our teacher got my blog link because I didn't know for sure that she would get it. So It was pleasant to found she checked my blog and praised me for it. Also I was very-very glad to know that I had the highest mark on Phonetics this month. To be honest I was afraid to pass the test but it went well and fast so now I'm looking forward to my mark.
7. To improve my pronunciation, I should do the following task at home:
I think I have to do some shadowing. Probably I'll watch two video on BBC English Channel and repeat phrases. Also I need to read the sentences on the sound "kit" aloud many times to pronunce it well.
