                      Reflective journal 22/03 and 29/03

1. Things I learned and did today:

First of all we did the interesting quiz with the help of our mobile phones to find out how well my groupmates and I know some phonetic topics. The tasks were to check our knowledge of sounds, phonetic phenomena and tunes. We did such a quiz to revise the material before the test. Then we wrote the written test on consonant sounds which consisted of two tasks. They were to write all the principle of consonant classification and the consonant table. The last task was reading the text with p and b sounds with proper tunes.

2. For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:
it is definitely wrong use of tune. To be honest I don't understand how to pronounce some of them right way.

3. I would give 5 points out of ten for my pronunciation today because it was not very good, especially in the case of tunes..

4. For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent:

My partner spoke not very well. She missed some cases of phonetic phenomena and confused the tunes. So she has the same problem.

5. I would give 7 points out of ten for my partner's pronunciation today because her speech wasn't good enough to put the highest score!

6. Impressions for today's lesson:

 It was really thrilling to wait the start of the test and unfortunately my groupmates and me are not sure we passed it. The use of tunes is a hard theme enough so we became exhausted after the lesson.

7. To improve my pronunciation, I should do the following task at home:

I think I have to do some shadowing. Probably I'll watch two video on youtube.com and repeat phrases. Also I must try tunes hard and I'll do it on the internet web-site our teacher gave some lessons ago.

                                                         Day: 13    Date: 29.03.2018

1. Things I learned and did today:

Today we read the exercises on consonant sounds [t] and [d] and analysed our reading. It's important not only to read the sounds properly but use the right tune patterns. Then we refresh our memory on consonants and sang a song on the website.

2. For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:I think today my speech was not so bad so I can't distinguish any Russian features so I'm going to ask my partner.

3. I would give 9 points out of ten for my pronunciation today because it was quite good.

4. For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent:

My partner spoke not very well. She missed some cases of phonetic phenomena and confused the tunes. So she has the same problem.

5. I would give 7 points out of ten for my partner's pronunciation today because her speech wasn't good enough to put the highest score!

6. Impressions for today's lesson:
This lesson wasn't something unusual so we just got new knowledge in Phonetics.
