To be honest I didn't like the speech as the message wasn't clear for me
3. Manoj Vasudevan's speech (the 1st place at the Championship)
I. Speech Content (45 points)
As for the speech topic I would say it's rather thrilling nowadays among all the people. We shouldn't look for an ideal person to marry. We need to maintain close relationships full of understanding and believing by conceding to th partner in some not very important details. So the topic seems rather interesting and disturbing for people so I'm immersed into the performance just when it started.
Organization - 20/ 20
The organization of the speech is rather typical and clear: the introduction with the hook, the body and emotive end that greatly helps the understanding of the message.
Support - 15/15
The speaker supports his message with his love story and it really touches! personal examples always catch attention of audience and make the speaker and their audience closer.
Cohesion - 10/10
I would say the cohesion of the text is fine. The speaker smoothly moves from point to point and connects them with each other with the help of linkers.
II. Speech Delivery (40 points)
Vocal presentation: 18/20
1) volume
The participant speaks in a rather loud voice to perfectly hear him.
2) tempo
the tempo is just fine to follow the author's thoughts and ideas at comfortable speed.
3) pitch
The speaker's voice is very pleasant and at important points he purposely heightens it and sometimes makes it lower to accentuate some things.
4) emphasis
To make emphasis the speaker uses his voice and poses in important moments to catch attention of his audience.
5) clear articulation
There are some accent features but it is still clear.
Physical presentation: 20/20
1) eye contact
The speaker maintains eye contact with the audience.
2) gesturing
The speaker is very good at acting,he uses gestures rather well to create a humoristic effect with his words.
3) posture
He moves, sits down, turns and uses other postures to make his speech vivid.
4) facial expression
The speaker's face reflects his emotions at different parts of his performance that helps understanding the message.
5) movements
6) dress
The speaker wears a suit which is in my opinion makes him feel uncomfortable but probably it is a must for participants. If I were there i would probable put on something more casual to feel more confident and free.
III. General Effectiveness (15 points)
Amount of time used: 5/5
Adherence to time requirements: 10/10
Creativity: unique
_________
Total points: 98/100
I just love this very performance!
